"Story Time"

This morning we attended our second session of "Story Time."  Story Time is on our court square every Saturday morning and is an awesome children's ministry!

Last Saturday was our first meeting.  I was so impressed and truly blessed.  We had so much fun and so, I was very excited to meet again this morning.

The children begin with praise music, where they can dance, sing, and get really loud praising Jesus.  It is so exciting seeing these children getting excited about the Lord!  Mills has been a bit "shy" at first, but eventually warms up a little bit as the morning proceeds.

The actual "stories" during story time are from "The Jesus Storybook Bible."  It is such an awesome Bible for children!!  If you don't have it, it is a must.  Last week after our first meeting, Mills and I headed to Lifeway to get it and have been studying it every night.  We started, of course, with the creation story and this week learned about Adam and Eve's temptation by the "snake" in the Garden of Eden.  The children are given bible verses to memorize throughout the week and Mills actually did really well learning Genesis 1:1 this week.  The kids also break up according to age for group time before dismissal and....POPSICLES!

I am so excited for Mills to be able to part of this awesome ministry.  I feel very blessed and am extremely thankful to all of those who have worked so hard to get this going in our community.  We cannot wait until next Saturday at 10:00am, Court Square Park...See you there!

Mr. Zach and Jonah welcoming everyone to "Story Time."

The children are asked if they want to say their bible verse.

Ms. Emily reading about "The Terrible Lie" to the children.

Group time with Ms. "Sue"

The children watching "Adam and Eve."

Last, but not least, POPSICLE time!

Happy 4th of July!!

Last night we celebrated Independence Day at our church. Mills, Nana, and I headed over on the golf cart for loads of fun!
Our annual "Let Freedom Ring" celebration was amazing! Our choir sang and the soloists did awesome!
I was excited to take Mills, but very unsure of how he would react. Last year, we were out of town and did not attend, but managed to make it back to get a few "store bought" fireworks to shoot with out friends. Mills was terrified!
Last night, he did just fine. Of course, he was a little unsure at first, but enjoyed them in the end! It was fantastic!
As we celebrate the birth of our country today, I must say that I am so proud to be an American.  I also want to encourage you to be in prayer for our blessed nation, as so many today have turned their eyes away from the One who gave us this free nation, the Creator, our loving, amazing, awesome God. Our blessed nation needs healing, and our pastor could not have spoken a better message last night.  Our nation needs healing, and Jesus is the only one who can and will bring healing.  Thank you God for allowing me to be part of this great nation. IN GOD WE TRUST!  Happy Birthday America!

Fun on a Hot Day!

I managed to drag out the beach ball sprinkler that we purchased last year for Mills' 2nd birthday party.  I think he had forgotten all about it.

He was not so sure about it at first. I told him to go run around in the water and the first thing he said, was "I can't. I'll get wet." Uhhhh, well, that was the whole point of course. Finally, he gave in and had a ball

2Sisters Designs

I just love the different embellishments of this bracelet!!!

I went for my annual eye exam today.  As I was leaving, I noticed that the mantel in the office was decorated with all sorts of jewelry.  BEAUTIFUL jewelry!  Actually, it was an assortment of bracelets.  Not one was like the other, and I was so amazed at the uniqueness of each one.

I asked Ms. Sharon who made them, and she quickly told me that her daughters, Anna and Jordan, and herself had made them.  I was so impressed.  They really have a talent and I hope to collect a few more!

Those of you who are local to the area,( or not), should really check them out.  The best part is, not only are the beautiful, they are priced very reasonably!!!  Just $15 for one, or $25 for two!

VISIT THEIR ETSY SHOP!!!

LIKE THEM ON FACEBOOK!!!

You can also find these lovely bracelets at the Optometry office of Drs. Whitley and Hughes.  The address is 312 South Main Street, in Covington.

Ladies, you do a fabulous job!

KY Lake Weekend

We spent Father's Day weekend at the lake and had a blast.  We left on Thursday, and the the rest of the crew joined us on Friday.
The weather was perfect and the sun was hot.  Just ask E, he roasted himself on Friday and has been miserable since.  Poor guy has been hitting the aloe vera pretty heavily and fever has set in.
Regardless, we had fun and are home, exhausted and not ready to start the week.  Being off is a spoiler for sure!

Mills helped Papa B drive the boat

Erik and his little buddy

Armed and dangerous.  I promise he wasn't involved in any "drive bys"

Justin and Mills enjoying themselves as usual

Daddy, Mills, and Mommy on our first tube ride of the weekend

"Seasells"

Aunt Kimmie, Mills, and Me gave it a run on Saturday

Now, pay close attention to this picture.  Mills isn't just laying his head down.  He is asleep! Who sleeps on a tube?

A few minutes later we manage to get him to lay down on the boat.  He was out in no time.

Justin in his life vest diaper.  For those who are wondering.  It is much more comfortable to float in the water when wearing your vest on your legs.  We all do it!

Papa B the ship captain.

An hour and a half later, Mills is still asleep, just eventually woke up as perky as ever.

Mother's Day 2012

We had a wonderful Mother's Day this year!  After church, we headed out to Dee and Pop's house for Sunday lunch.  We ate until we were stuffed and the kids played and played.  The grown-ups did too!

Lainey and Dee playing with the sand bucket.  I have no idea what Mills and Pops are doing in the background.

Mom, me and Mills.  Mills was NOT into getting his picture made that day.  Naptime was calling his name.

I love being a mommy!

Erik loving on Whit.

Mills telling his daddy to STOP loving on Whit.

These pictures of Erik and Lainey will be famous one day.  Again, she is looking at me like:  Why is this crazy guy always grabbing me and and smiling ridiculously big?

Me with the best mom in the world!
