My Surprise!
Just what I needed to brighten my Monday! Yesterday was my birthday, and my sister, Kim, sent me these beautiful flowers today at work. The beautiful vase was full of lillies, roses, heather, gerbera daisies, larkspur, bells of ireland and curly willow. These are some of my favorites!

Easter Dinner and Egg Hunting
We had Easter Dinner at Gammy and Pop's house after church. Today, is actually my 33rd birthday, and my cousin, Kelley's as well. After eating lunch, Mills and Lainey had their own private Easter egg hunt.
Whitney and I set out to hide the eggs. We didn't realize just how many eggs we had until we started walking back toward the house. There was color everywhere. The kids were cheating. I looked up and saw Mills standing in the back storm door waving at us as we came back. I smiled at him and shook my finger. Just joking, of course. Then, as I looked up once more, the back door opened. Mills tripped and fell forward down the brick steps. I screamed, threw down the basket and took off running. It was like slow motion. I couldn't get to him fast enough. I picked him up and there I saw it...blood. Yep! I cried and held him tight as he cried. The scratches and scrapes broke my heart, but in about a minute, my little rough and tough boy was darting toward the Easter Eggs. It could have been 1000 times worse than it really was. He's a tough one. That's for sure. I think it hurt me more to see his head and face all scratched up with blood than anything. Every time I look at him, it kills me, but he is fine. Mommy is not. When he falls, Erik and I are not quick to react, because we want Mills to know that he's a tough boy, but this was a different story. Running and falling is one thing. Tumbling down brick steps face first is another. Mommy reacted!
Here are two of the prettiest and most handsome babies you've ever seen hunting their eggs. Precious is all I can say about that!
Mills' Easter Frock
Mills looked to handsome in his Easter suit this morning. I asked him to stand still so that I could take his picture. He did not want to, and I could tell this by the way he hung his sweet little head, and poked out his lip. He didn't cry, or fuss, or get mad like he would have normally done. He just pouted silently and let mama do her work. Too funny. See, he's precious isn't he. If I should say so myself, my boys clean up pretty nicely!
Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny stopped by the Beasley home, and left Mills a fantastic surprise! He was as sweet as pie opening up his basket and seeing all of his goodies. He didn't know what to think. It was so much fun.
He recieved alot of nice things including a Cat in the Hat and Curious George DVD, The Easter Story book, a chocolate bunny, peeps, PB cups etc. My favorite of the goodies, was his chocolate Jesus fish. To me, the most meaningful of all. There will be a lot of toothbrushing going on in the Beasley house! It will probably take all 3 of us to eat the candy in his basket, but I can assure you, Erik and I don't mind helping.

Mills with His Eggs
Our day started out smoothly. I had planned on taking Mills to an Easter Egg Hunt that we were asked to go to this morning. We got up, ate breakfast, E hit the golf course, and I got my shower, bathed Mills, pressed his clothes, and got ready to leave for the 10:30 11:30 egg hunt. That's right, it was at 10:30, not 11:30. We missed it. I was devastated! I am just so thankful that Mills is still too young to even have a clue. Ever felt like the worse mother in the world? Well, I did, but like I said, he has no idea that he missed his very first real-deal official egg hunt. I felt horrible, but there will be a million more egg hunts in his life time. Right? I still feel like a heel.

Here are some pictures of him ready to go to the hunt. The hunt that we missed.

Easter Eggs
I am going to try and make our annual egg dyeing a Good Friday tradition. We did it on Good Friday last year, as well.
I stated in last year's post that I am not a fan of plastic eggs. To me, they take all of the fun out of the good ole' egg tradition. I dyed eggs EVERY year as a child, and Mills will do so as well. He is still too young to understand that egg dyeing can be a bit tricky and that he has to be careful with the dyes. We had one casualty today, but hopefully the purple will come out of his khaki shorts....yikes!
12 colors and

"Ooooooooh!" Mills said
After the eggs dried. We took Mills out for a test hunt. He did great! We're geared up for our first real hunt this weekend.

Good Friday...Perfect Lamb of God
17And He bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18Where they crucified Him, and two other with Him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. -John 19:17-19
18Where they crucified Him, and two other with Him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. -John 19:17-19
Jesus paid the ulitmate price for you and for me. I pray that you remember this day, Good Friday, the day that the price was paid for our sins. Because of His sacrifice, you and I, by God's grace are given the gift of eternal life, if we confess with our mouth, and believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord!
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." -Romans 10:9For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16

Cupcake Smiles
Our little guy is still a very good eater. We are so glad that we don't have to fight with him to get him to eat. Now don't get me wrong. He is getting a little more "choosy" on what he likes and doesn't like, but so far, I think he is doing great.
This morning, being on our church's children's committee, I had to go to our annual Easter egg hunt. Mills is not "of age" for it yet (3-kindergarten), so E had the liberty of keeping him this morning. I am exhausted! I think I've done nothing this weekend but run from one place to the next, and right now, my body is telling me that I have done too much, but I have gotten a lot accomplished.
I brought home a little bit of extra fruit, and cupcakes left from last night's kid's movie night, and gave the fruit to him with his lunch at noon. He loves fruit and vegetables. As I was watching him eat his peas and carrots and strawberries with cantaloupe, I was thinking about how blessed we are to have a little boy that will eat healthy things. After his lunch, and because he ate well, I, the bad momma, gave him a cupcake right before nap time. I couldn't help it. He did not eat the whole thing, of course, but enjoyed what he did eat. He had eaten so well and I decided to reward him with a "happy." Boy, and was he happy!? I'll let you decide.
There is nothing sweeter than these little hands wrapped around a cupcake.

20 months
So, I'm a couple days behind on posting this, but hey, life is busy! In just four short months, Mills, we will be celebrating your 2nd birthday. Didn't we just bring you home from the hospital yesterday? Here is what you're up to, sweet boy!
- New words and phrases: boat, turtle, outside "side" (and you point to the door), ride, upstairs "stairs", "Joey, no!" "Awwww puppy," truck, Shhhhhh (and your put your finger to your mouth while tip-toeing), Jesus (Ceesus), More "moah", choo choo (when we see the train), pizza, "ketti" (spaghetti). "I did it!"...among a lot more things, but we can't always understand you.
- You are starting to learn to blow. You blow your food when its "hot!" or when its not (you observe your mommy very well), you try to blow bubbles, even though most of the time you end up touching the wand to your mouth first (yuck), and you even try blowing your nose.
- You are VERY strong-willed. Your daddy and I are trying to figure out just how to deal with it. Any advice from friends would be gladly appreciated. ha! You have a temper and can throw yourself in the floor and get mad with the best of them, and you go limp like a dish rag when I attempt to deter you from doing something that you shouldn't be doing, but your sweet side is the sweetest of all. When we tell you not to do something, you do it. Testing! Testing! 1-2-3. We could just squeeze you to pieces. Nothing melts mommy's heart more than when you hug me, pat my back and say "awwwww," followed by a kiss.
- Just a few weeks ago, you managed to put your pajama top on all by yourself. Wow! I know it sounds crazy to think that it is some sort of huge accomplishment, but to me, it is. Anything new is always an accomplishment to me.
- You are constantly moving. You go from one thing to the next and never stop. Every time I turn around, you are getting into something. I feel horrible because I feel like you are going to think that your name is, "NO!" I am hoping that this is just a 20 month old boy thing...or just a boy thing for that matter, and not a sign of over hyperactivity. Someone please reassure me!
- Sirens: you think they are cool! Every time we are out playing and an ambulance, police car, or fire truck passes, you smile really big, watch, and clap. That's a good thing. I would hate for you not to like fire trucks. Daddy wouldn't be too pleased either. You also say "whoo whoo" when you see a train.
- You have become a puzzle pro. Your daddy taught you how to match each piece to it's proper place. The wooden peg puzzles have been wonderful. You can now put each animal or piece or transportation etc. exactly where it goes. :) Just another new accomplishment that we are proud of.
- Clothes: You've moved on up to a 24m/2T in most things, although I am still getting 18m things in a few items. Shoes: two weeks ago I bought you your first pair of size 5 sandals, and a size 5.5 in your new tennis shoes. I thought your foot had stopped growing, but obviously not.

First Popsicle and First Set of Clubs
We've been cooped up. Even with nice weather, Mills' cough has been great during the day, but at night, he coughs. So, I have been reluctant to take him out in the wind. He is probably fine, but just to make sure, we've stayed indoors. We did go out for a while, but that was all.
The weather has been so beautiful. I am loving it, and it makes me wish that we had a gigantic playground in our yard. It makes me want to do fun things with him. So, I headed to walmart to get him some popsicles. Yep! Popsicles!!! Its hot out, and a little boy needs a popsicle every now and then. I also picked up his first set of clubs and more "baaboles" (bubbles) while I was there too. Five dollars....why not?
Now, that is one happy boy!
The abandoned popsicle...oh, but it was only for a minute!

The love of our lives was born on 8.13.09 and is the light of our lives. Mills is our happy, busy, typical little boy, who never slows down. He is a huge fan of Moose and Zee, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse and loves playing with his "big-brother-dog," Joey. There is not a day that goes by that I don't look at this precious miracle given to us by God and sit in awe.
