Dr. Visit / 37 weeks

This morning I had my 37 week Dr. appt. Erik met me there after getting off work, and we FINALLY got to see my newly chosen Dr. I must admit, I was very impressed! Today, I am 37 weeks and 4 days. My tummy measured in at 37 1/2 cm, which is right on schedule, and I am 60% effaced and 3cm dilated! Woa!

I've been looking for a light-weight robe to wear at the hospital. The robe I have is shorter and a little heavy, so I thought a new robe and house shoes would be a great gift to myself. Do you know how hard it is to find a robe? Honestly! After a trip to TJ Maxx, Old Navy (which was closed due to yesterday's storms), Stein Mart, and Marshalls, I finally ended up at Target to find what I was looking for minus the house shoes. I try to avoid the mall when I am by myself. I don't feel like getting mugged anytime soon or at all for that matter. It wasn't that the other stores didn't have what I was looking for, they just didn't have any robes. Period! So, I came home with no shoes, but hopefully I'll find some.

Congratulations to the Morgans!

Colton Rayne Morgan was born this morning, around 8am, weighing in at 5lbs. 8oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. Colton was born to two of our very best friends, Landon & Katy. We are so excited that he is here. He wasn't due until Sept. 4, but decided to make his appearance early. Both Mommy and baby are doing great! Daddy tells me that Katy's water broke this morning at 2:00 and that they headed to the hospital in Franklin. An ultrasound revealed that Colton was breech, so a c-section was necessary. We can't wait to meet Colton! Congratulations to the two of you, and the grandparents as well! We really want to go see the baby, but traveling with 22 days until my due date wouldn't be smart.

LOTS OF LOVE!

Happy 4th Birthday Drew!

Yesterday we celebrated my cousin, Drew's birthday. Actually he turned 4 on the 20th of July, but was out of town. So, yesterday he had a few friends and family to help him celebrate at Kelley and Wade's pool. It seems like yesterday when I was blogging about his 3rd birthday. He is growing so quickly, and getting cuter by the minute. I have to tell you what he asked me at my shower a couple of weeks ago. I was standing in the dining room and he walked up, stared at my belly and grinned from ear to ear.

Drew: "Do you have a boy baby in your belly?" (touching it with his finger)
Me: "Yes, I sure do."
Drew: "When's he goin' to come out of there?"
Me: "Well, the Dr. is going to take him out in about 5 weeks."
Drew: "Are you goin' to cry?"
Me: "Well, if I do, it will be a happy cry, not a sad cry."
Drew: "Well, what kind of hair is he going to have."
Me: Uhhhhh.... (I had no answer for that).

Kids do say that darndest things, don't they?

Fun, Busy, Enjoyable Day with the Hubby

Today was a wonderful day, because E and I spent the whole day together. We've both been so busy lately and have enjoyed each other, but today, we spent every minute of the day together.

We slept in, or should I say that E slept in, for a while this morning. We had to choose our final selections from our maternity session with Phil at 11:00, then we were off to the freckled frog so that I could spend those gift cards and get the diaper bag I wanted for Mills.

Next we went for lunch at the Country Club, luckily they have a grilled chicken wrap that I was able to enjoy and keep my sugar under control. Then we headed for Babies "R" Us to make a few exchanges and a few purchases as well. We were able to get Mills' highchair, and I had to pick up a travel crib sheet too. We LOVE his new highchair. He will be able to use it for several years, because it is convertible.

After Babies "R" Us, we headed to Bass Pro so that E could spend a gift card that was burning a hole in his pocket. He lucked out getting a pair of pants that he had been wanting. Today, they just happened to be on clearance. His original plan was to stock up on shells for the upcoming dove and squirrel seasons. Well, after spotting the pants, the shells were carried back to their shelf. I can't blame him, He can buy those things anytime.

Before dinner and heading home, we then headed to Barnes and Noble. We received a gift card at one of our showers, and so there were a few books that I wanted to pick up for Mills. I could stay in there all day. There were so many books that I could have bought. I hope that Mills will like to read, so we're going to start early. I've already been reading to him and playing music from my iPod on my belly.

I hope to start collecting Curious George books for the baby, so this was a good start. This book contains 5 stories!

Corduroy was one of my favorites as a child. I never owned the book, but remember it being read to us in the school library many times.

These two books were spotted as soon as we entered the children's section. I had seen them once before online, but never knew what they were about. After browsing through both of them, they were must haves. We've got to start the little one our early you know!

We finally got home around 6:00. I joined E for 9 holes of golf. Of course I didn't get to play and have really missed it this year. There is no way you can hit a golf ball straight with this belly! LOL! Regardless, I really enjoyed our busy day. I'd do it all again tomorrow!

It's a BOY! My friend and co-worker, Rachel, delivered a sweet baby boy today. We are so glad he is finally here. Jaxon Ray "Jax", weighed 8lbs. 14oz. and 21 1/4" long. What a big boy! Rachel, Brent, Ben, & Kade, I am sure you are not reading this, but just in case you are, we just want you to know that we are so excited and can't wait to meet Jax. I'm sure he's a handsome one!

Dr. Visit / 36 weeks

We just arrived home from our weekly Dr. visit. My appointment was at 1:00. Erik and I arrived at 12:45, waited 30 minutes for my ultrasound (which was expected because we were worked in), then waited over an hour after the ultrasound just to get in a room to see the Dr. We were getting very impatient, especially since E had a commitment for this afternoon. We waited in there for a little over 30 minutes, then finally, I was seen. We didn't leave the Dr. until 3:45, talk about frustration.

The appointment went well other than that. The ultrasound revealed that baby still loves to keep his hands on his face. We barely got a shot of his little chubby cheeks and cute little nose. He is a cutie! As of today, 36 weeks and 4 days, Mills is weighing in at "5lbs. 12oz." They think that I'm going to have a small baby, which sounds great to me! We'll see though. Doc "checked" me and it went a lot smoother than last week. I have dilated 1cm and am 50% effaced.

The Pottery Barn Kids Fairy Came!

I am ecstatic! I arrived home from work today and to my surprise, the UPS man had brought 2 huge boxes from pottery barn kids. He had also dropped off a box from there on Friday. It was like Christmas. I was very confused, because I knew I hadn't ordered anything from there. However, we did register there for our baby boy. I have been needing my Catalina magazine rack to put on the wall behind our rocker, for Mills' books, and I also needed my espresso shelves for above the dresser. If you remember from this post, I had not finished my walls yet, because I had not bought the things that I had wanted. Well, thanks to my WONDERFUL sweet cousin, Lonnie, his wife Catherine, and their sweet little one, Cole, our baby boy's nursery can be completed. I am so overwhelmed! We received our magazine rack, one of our shelves, and 2 of our storage baskets with the gingham liners. I am speechless. Lonnie, Cat, and Cole, if you are reading this, THANK YOU TONS!

Katy's Baby Shower

Not only did I attend my own baby shower yesterday, I attended one of my best friend, Katy's shower as well. Katy and Landon are expecting their sweet baby boy Sept 4. Time is flying for all of us! The shower was very nice and the mommy-to-be received tons of nice things!

If you will remember from this post, at our first shower, 3 of my best friends are also pregnant. We had to do an updated "belly shot" from a month later!

Baby Shower Brunch- 7/18/09

Yesterday, we had our last baby shower brunch at the home of Tammy Gay. The shower was given by Kim & Amanda. We had a blast! Everything was so nice!!! We enjoyed the morning outdoors, sipping peach tea and enjoying chicken salad, pimento cheese, sausage balls, fruit etc. The big surprise...Whimsy Cookies! Kim, you REALLY surprised me on that one! I was ecstatic. For those of you who are wondering what "whimsy cookies" are, I'll tell you. Back in March, I went to the Baby Expo at the AgraCenter and saw these adorable cookies. So, I grabbed a card with the blog address on it, and started following. Laurie, who is the wonderful creator of these cookies, started following my blog as well. I LOVE seeing what kind of creations she comes up with. She is amazing! I literally think that she can do anything. She has been so sweet to comment on my blog several times, and I will comment on hers as well. Though we haven't met...YET, I know I will meet her one day. I have always wondered if the cookies taste as good as they look. Yesterday, I got to find out...yes, the gestational diabetic ate a cookie, AND brought the left overs home! lol The cookies are AWESOME! Thank you Laurie, and thank you Kim and Amanda, and Tammy too, for opening up your home for such a wonderful shower.

Sister shot!

This is where I was supposed to sit, but the sun was a little warm. So, we opted for the shade instead. Regardless, it was beautiful!

My onesie cookies from Whimsy Cookie Co. Aren't they adorable?

Yeah, Kim would be pretty good on the Price is Right, but actually she is just modeling the bug spray that we were using for the extreme amout of bees and horseflys. Apparently they liked my corsage. No, she didn't spray me! ha!

Daddy, Amanda, Kim and Cameron got us our jogging stroller! Yeah!! Now we can cruise town with some cool tunes!

My mom got us our travel system stroller. Yea!!! Now, Mills can safely travel home from the hospital, and go shopping with his Mommy

35 Weeks/Dr. Visit

E and I just arrived home from the Dr. Everything is right on schedule! I gained 1 1/2 lbs and my diabetes in is check. Today was the first time that I actually got "checked," and they also did the group B strep test. I have only dilated 1/2 cm-ha! Oh, and that was NOT fun. I thought I was going to come off the table! Baby IS heading out though, what great news. We go back next Thursday afternoon for another "check" and ultrasound. Only 32 days to go!

Wilson Baby Shower 7/12/09

Yesterday afternoon, we were blessed with another baby shower for my Mom's side of the family and friends of the church that I grew up in. I was able to see my first cousin Chris, and my cousin, her daughter, Brandi, that we don't get to see often enough. They live in Southaven now, and so I was so glad that they got to come!! The shower was given at my cousin Kelley's home, was given by her and my aunts Judy and Judy :) Everyone enjoyed fruit, nuts and punch, and my friend and Kelley's sister-in-law, Courtney, made the cake. Thank you Courtney! Everything was beautiful! Erik and I are so lucky to have our friends and family who have thrown all of these wonderful showers for our sweet baby boy! Kelley thank you for opening up your home for the shower. Mills is one lucky baby!!!
