Call me crazy, but I've been wanting these things for a while, but just haven't purchased them. Its not like we get snow once a week around here, but it would help to have them when we do. Our dog is like a child. You let him out in the snow, and he runs around like a mad dog. He absolutely loves it. But...its not good for his paws. Since our Joey is an inside dog, his pads are more prone to frost bite. I read in an AKC magazine several years ago, that a dog should not be let out in cold, icy, and snowy weather for more than 5 minutes, because of the risk of frost bite. Now thats no fun to a dog that loves to play in it. Snow and ice can get stuck in between the pads on your dog's paws, causing cuts and uncomfortably cold toes, so I wonder if a purchase of these things would be worth it. He would look awfully funny, but hey, why not? Anyone ever used them?

The love of our lives was born on 8.13.09 and is the light of our lives. Mills is our happy, busy, typical little boy, who never slows down. He is a huge fan of Moose and Zee, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse and loves playing with his "big-brother-dog," Joey. There is not a day that goes by that I don't look at this precious miracle given to us by God and sit in awe.

Daisy definitely needs some!!!
Hey Amy ~
Everyone with a dog in Chicago has a pair of these. From what I understand, they are very helpful in keeping the salt crystals from becoming lodged in the paws, or during extremely cold days. However, many dogs have problems keeps these things on their feet. Often times, the owners spend more time searching for a "glove" that has slipped off. Some of my friends go through several pairs during the winter season.
My Jack is much like his Mommy...an indoor "person." When it snows, he runs out long enough to do his business and then straight back in.
