Packing

We officially have 40 days until baby Beasley's (aka Mills) due date. August 17 is just around the corner and I have been the worst procrastinator on the face of the earth. Every night as I sit in the recliner devouring a fudge Carb Smart bar, I think of how I should be upstairs in the attic getting my suitcase out and packing to go to the hospital. Anything could happen at any time, but I am definitely hoping the Mills' will bake for at least 3 1/2 more weeks, even though he is moving around like a mad man and resting his foot in my ribs. So, let me get to my point. We need your help. Most of you have packed to go to the hospital for your sweet babies. What are the things you packed and what are some things that you didn't pack but wish you would have?

You need a nice (button up) pair (or two)of pj's!!! I also took the baby some soft onesies because the hospital ones aren't that soft. The rest is pretty much understood. Eric may need some spare one's or quarters for the coke machines on the floor. That was just a random thought.

Take your heating pad and enjoy laying on it in the hos bed. Also - I have a great neck massager if you want to take it along.I had a great girlfriend come spend a night in the hos with me afterward, she rubbed my feet and painted my toenails and we watched Steel Magnolia's (my babies were in the NICU and not able to come to my room) Enjoy that time alone n the hos and get ready for the fun ahead!

A pretty robe and nursing gown or pj's(if you have decided to nurse:-) I got several nursing things from motherwear.com if you want to take a look at their website) Ditto on the advice to take soft onesies or baby gowns for Mills. Snacks for you and Erik. I didn't watch movies because there wasn't time between visitors and feedings and I tried to sleep every free second I got! I am so excited for you! Can't believe you only have three or four weeks left!Best of luck!

I forgot the little mittens for Karoline. Her nails were so long and sometime during pregnancy she scratched her face all up. Also, do not forget the cell phone charger. Good luck!!

take some fuzzy socks or slippers-you will not want to walk around that nasty floor without shoes and then get back in the bed. Ditto on some comfy PJs. If you nurse, I love the nursing tanks from Motherhood vs having to wear a bar b/c it is built in them. I always take some soft baby gowns for the baby

whether you nurse or not, take a Boppy. I used mine until my babies were at least two. First to nurse, then to bottle feed and then just to support them as I rocked them to sleep. And yes, I did rock them both until they were two. And yes, they go to sleep on their own now. Pretty pjs and a robe are a must. Phone charger, makeup and your own favorite pillow are also important.
