I regret that I have not posted Mills' milestones by month. It was something that I had intended on doing, but honestly, I forgot about it. Each month I had planned on posting a picture of him and listing the many accomplishments that he has reached. Well, I guess its not to late for it, even though he is 8½ months old. I can still do that right? If I don't do it now, by nine months, I'll forget...again, and I hope to turn this blog into a scrapbook at the end of each year.
Mills Oliver,
Today, you are exactly 8½ months old. You are growing so quickly, and as a matter of fact, I think you've changed more in the past month than you have your entire life. Here's what you're up to...
1. You are crawling everywhere, and boy, you are FAST! We even had to stop you from going up the stairs yesterday. Daddy watched you go to the third step and then decided that it was time to get you down. So, in lieu of that, your mommy will be shopping for an additional baby gate tomorrow.
2. You are pulling up on everything, and are even trying to climb up on the couch. You even try standing up in the middle of the floor without something to pull up on, but to no avail, you fall to your bottom and try again. You are steadily learning to walk along the coffee table and couch, so we have put padding around the sharp corners to save your precious little head.
3. You are sleeping from 7:30pm-6:30am, and most of the time I have to wake you up to leave for Mimi June's. All I can say is THANK YOU! I love to sleep too, ya know! ;)
4. You are now using a sippy cup pretty well. You finally figured out that if you turn your cup up, you can actually get something out of it without help from mommy or daddy.
5. You have learned what "no" means, and so far, you are minding pretty good. I caught you heading for your daddy's guitar this weekend, and watched you sit beside it, very still, and you did not touch it after I told you "no." That was very good of you! But you then headed for the springy door stop, pulled the rubber stopper off, and about gave me a heart-attack. Tomorrow, I will be super gluing all of them on and finishing putting covers in all of the electrical outlets tomorrow as well.
6. You now have two teeth, and this weekend we started you on Stage 3 foods. At first, you didn't like them, and tried to gag when a solid piece of carrot touched your tongue. I panicked a little, and was a little bit afraid that you would never eat table food. Tonight, you ate every bit of your supper with no fussing; carrots and ALL! I then gave you some sweet potato puffs, and you loved them. You actually hit your mouth tonight instead palming them and dropping them in your lap. I have learned one thing...puffs stick to EVERYTHING, but I am now at ease and am really relieved that eventually you will be eating steak and baked potato.
7. You FINALLY said you're first "word." Although we don't think you know what you're saying, "da-da" is what we are hearing. Actually every morning we are waking up to you sitting in your crib saying, "dad-dy....dad-dy." It is so adorable, and melts our hearts.
Everyday is a new adventure and we look forward to watching you grow and grow. You are our precious miracle and we love you!

The love of our lives was born on 8.13.09 and is the light of our lives. Mills is our happy, busy, typical little boy, who never slows down. He is a huge fan of Moose and Zee, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse and loves playing with his "big-brother-dog," Joey. There is not a day that goes by that I don't look at this precious miracle given to us by God and sit in awe.

Precious! And I hope he keeps sleeping like that. My boys slept 12 hours a night from 6 months until they were 5 yrs old. Now days they still sleep 10 hours every night and would sleep longer if they didn't have to go to school.
So sweet! I LOVE!!! the picture of you and Mills at the top of this post! :)
