My Glory and the Lifter of My Head

As I walked out of church this morning, I stared at what appeared to be 100s of pink and purple bows surrounding our church. My face was flushed, my make-up...well, lets just say that it was gone, so to speak.

The service this morning was none other than perfect. As God led Bro. Chuck to speak to us about overcoming fear, our congregation at FBC stood as one this morning. One in God, one in the Holy Spirit. We sang "All Hail the Power of Jesus Name," Lord, I Lift Your Name on High," "At the Cross," and then sang of his "Amazing Love."
I am part of our church choir. This morning, our offertory message in music was none other than "Thou, O Lord," which led the whole congregation to their feet. The Holy Spirit moved and it was the most awesome experience and feeling. We were all there to honor God, to stand for God, and with all of our hearts, were holding on to Jesus as he wrapped his arms around us, and around Lucy and her family. Hearts were touched this morning, and the words of Ms. Nancy over a brief conversation at lunch today could not have described it more. "It felt as if there was going to be a rapture," she said. She couldn't have described it more perfectly.

Many are they increased that troubled me
Many are they that rise up against me
Many there be which say of my soul
There is no help for him in God

But thou, oh Lord are a shield for me
My glory and the lifter of my head
Thou, oh Lord are shield for me
My glory and the lifter of my head

Repeat

I cried unto the Lord with my voice
And he heard me out of His holy hill
I laid me down and slept and awaked
For the Lord sustained, for He sustained me

Thou, oh Lord are a shield for me
My glory and the lifter of my head
Thou, oh Lord are shield for me
My glory and the lifter of my head

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you, I will uphold you with My righteous hand." -Isaiah 41:10

I hate that I missed! As I told you the other night, I'm so impressed by our small town's support.
