Christmas Day

After Santa, we headed to breakfast at Papa B and Grams and spent Christmas morning with them and my sisters.  Mills was once again showered with gifts.

Mills made Erik and I a plate with his hand print and dots at Paint-a-Piece.  So special!

Normally we go to lunch at Mom's.  This year, we decided to come back to our house and eat a small lunch.  With Mills being three years old, us being worn out, and the fact that he must have a nap, we figured it was only fair to him to not have to be drug from one place to another.  Every child wants to stay home and play with his new toys, and so Mom came to our house.  It worked out perfectly!

Lastly, after a relaxing afternoon, we headed to Mama and Daddy B's for supper.  Below is Mills holding up his new blanket from Tommy.  Aunt June made it and it is beautiful.  It is very soft and thick.  I think I'm going to have to have one too!

 

Oh and the guy behind the chair below.  Guess no one but me saw him.  It's yearly tradition after all of the gifts are unwrapped, to throw paper balls of wrapping paper at Mama and Daddy B.  For some reason, this year we didn't do it.  Well, everyone except for you know who.

Santa Came!

Mills' Christmas morning excitement was indescribable this year.  His mouth dropped open, he raised is hands in the air and said, "Wow!  It's just what I wanted!"

My gift to Erik.  I was so excited about giving this to him.  Thank you Rodney Leath!  You did an awesome job!

Erik and I gave Mills this table for Christmas. This table may not have cost us anything, but Mills loved it.  Actually, it was my table when I was a child.  It is amazing what a little Old English will do.  It looks as good as new.  Maybe, Mills' children will enjoy it one day as well.

Santa left Mills a letter thanking him for the milk and cookies.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

What a wonderful, special, day this is.  A day to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  There is no Christmas without Christ, and without Him, we would be nothing.  Today is the day we celebrate the miracle birth, the birth given by a virgin mother, by the divine Holy Spirit.  A miracle it is and a miracle it was.  Our God is mighty!

God's plan to send his only Son, Jesus, to take away the sins of this world was an act of love and mercy.  His love for us is undescribable, but Jesus is that love.  He was sent to this world for you and for me.  Can you imagine sending your child to be sacrificed for the sins of others?  I cannot fathom it.  That is how much he loves us.  John 3:16 tells us of this love, and Acts 2:21 tells us that if we are to believe in him and call upon his name, we shall be saved from eternal damnation.  Jesus is the Messiah, our savior, our friend, our comforter. Jesus is our gift from God.  He took our place.  We cannot earn salvation.  He is our only salvation.  I cannot wait to see his face!  Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

Christmas Eve Night

Christmas Eve night, we went to Dee & Pop's for dinner and gifts.  The kids had a ball as usual and racked up on the goods.

 

The kids love playing Santa every year, especially when they get to add a present to their own pile.



I love this! Can we say, "You'll shoot your eye out!"  Every kid needs a Red Ryder bb rifle! 


 

 

Notice Lainey's pink Red Ryder.  Dee and I thought they would be the perfect gift, minus the bbs.  Those will come later when the kids get a little older.

The jacket that Mills was wearing was from Lainey, Whit and Drew.  He would NOT take it off.  Needless to say, he loved it.

I don't know who was having more fun here.  The two big kids, or sibling as I should say are enjoying the remote control cars the Mills and Lainey received.

 

 



They love each other.  I couldn't be more glad!

Christmas Eve Morning

We've cleaned up, placed our last cotton ball on Santa's beard, and have fed the reindeer.  It's naptime for us! 
Tonight we'll head to Dee & Pop's and to Mama & Daddy B's to visit with the Mills side of the family.  It's all beginning!

Shame on Me!

I neglected to mention weeks ago that Mills got a new tree this year.  Our goal was to make him a firefighting/firetruck tree, but to no avail, finding ornaments for it was impossible.  Oh, I know what you're thinking, right?  Well, those fire ornaments are actually Erik's and must stay on the big tree in the living room.  So, we made a "boy" tree instead.
