FBC Preschool Easter Party

Mills got to attend his first Easter party at church yesterday during Sunday school  The kids made several crafts, listened to Ms. Sara as she narrated the Easter egg resurrection story, and then had a light breakfast.  Mills, Erik and I enjoyed it very much.

Sesame Street Live

For Valentine's Day, Papa B and Gram gave Millso tickets to Sesame Street Live, "Elmo's Super Heroes."  He has never been to anything like it, so we were curious to see how he would behave since our first trip to the movies last summer was a "wash." 

Friday morning, we headed down to the forum, as the show was set to start at 10:30 am.  Mills knew he was going to see Elmo, so he was super excited.

He was sooo good!  For the first half of the show, he sat amazed and still in his daddy's lap, unable to believe what he was seeing.  We had awesome seats!  He warmed up after intermission and actually participated in the clapping and stomping with the rest of the children.

Happy Anniversary!

Today, Erik and I are celebrating our BIG 10th anniversary!  How exciting!  We have made so many memories and I am such a lucky lady to have such an awesome husband that I love with all of my heart. 
Erik is such a wonderful caring and responsible husband, father, helper, head of the household, and not only am I so blessed to have him as a husband,  He is my best friend.  Mills is a lucky boy to have Erik as his father.  He is such a wonderful daddy.\

A decade of commitment has passed for us, and I look forward to each and every day here after as our commitment, love, and life together grows to be that of what God has set in our path.  Through good times and bad, we are lucky to have God on our side to guide us, protect us, and show us that we are His.

Thank you God for blessing us with so much more than  deserved and for showing us that by trusting in you, you will always be faithful.  We are thankful for our many blessings.  I thank you for giving me my wonderful husband and son. 

Meet "Mills Ah-yer Breezy"

Mills has learned his middle and last name, Mills Oliver Beasley.  He loves saying it, as a matter of fact, he had been leaving his first name off.  When we ask him his name, he just says, Oliver Beasley or "Ah-yer Breezy" in his lingo.  It is too funny.

**Mills and Erik had been hitting each other in the head with balloons. Imagine that! Boys hitting each other with balloons? So, daddy was giving "Mills Ah-yer" his payback. Notice it doesn't phase him. Boys will be boys!

Rabbi Greg

So touched today!  We had an awesome service at FBC, as Rabbi Greg Hershberg spoke ot our congregation during the Sunday school hour and worship.

I learned so much about the Jewish heritage/culture that we as Christians have left behind.  The fact is, Jesus was not Jewish, He IS Jewish.  Jewish Christianity...how awesome!!
I am definitely going to be studying more about this, because it is all so interesting.   The misconception that all Jews do not recognize Jesus as the messiah is nothing but untruth.  Yes, there are many Jewish men/women that still practice Orthodox Judaism, and do not believe that Jesus is the messiah,  but many, oh...they know the truth and what a blessing it is!  This, Messianic Judaism, has really caught my interest.
 I am so blessed to have met Rabbi Greg today and plan on tuning into his podcasts on my iPhone so that I can learn more about the way Jesus' taught and how God's word originally written in Hebrew, has an even deeper meaning than I have ever attempted to dive in to. I am eager to learn!

Several weeks ago, I broke down and bought Mills his very own Cars potty chair.  I was not planning using a potty chair, but a snap on seat instead, but with Mills having little or no interest using the toilet, I had to resort to option 2.

Yes, the potty that makes race car noises.  He'll like it, I thought.  I took him with me to get it and he was so excited to sit on it when we got home....with his clothes on.  He has cared less about the thing with the exception of the gear shift "flusher" that makes noises.  Bad idea mom!  I have even bribed him with treats, M&M's and such, but after sitting there for two seconds, he gets bored and distracted and says he's through.

After watching the Lion King several times, he has become a fan of Simba.  He told me he wanted a Simba toy.  So, with that being said,  I told him that if he would tee-tee or poop in his potty he could have one.  Hmmm, all that did was make him beg for his Simba toy and get mad, because I would not get him one.  He would NOT go in the potty.  So, I gave up.

Just this week, no joke, I have had two mothers say that they ended up putting the potty chair in front of the television and making their children sit on it until they "went."  With all options behind us, I thought, why not?  At this point, I'll try anything.  So, I brought the potty chair into the living room, took Mills pants and diaper off, and he willingly sat on his potty for a few minutes, stood up and said, "I frew!"  My thought was, Yeah right sit back down until you go."  I was ready to put his diaper on and as I walked over to grab the potty chair and take it back to it's spot in our bathroom, I noticed that Mills did a tee-tee.   I mean a GOOD tee-tee!  I literally screamed with excitement and he started jumping up and down smiling.  "I go pee pee in potty, Mama!"  Now, he may not do it again, but here's hoping.

Our next stop: Wally World for Simba way past Mills' bedtime! I didn't even know if they had a Simba, so I kept my fingers crossed the whole way there.

Bedtime Bible Stories

Last night's bedtime Bible stories for Mills were none other than Jonah and the whale, and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo.

After I read to Mills, I try to "discuss" each story with him.  Last night after our fiery furnace story.  I asked Mills why the king threw the three men into the fire.  He just looked at me, and of course I told him that they were thrown in because they worshiped God, instead of the king.  "They didn't burn up though, did they, Mills?" "Noooooo," he said.  Then I asked him who saved them from the fire.  His reply: "Daddy! firetrucks!"  Hmmmmmm  Well at least he knows what his daddy does for a living, right?

You never know what they're going to say next.  This morning, I looked up and Mills had Erik's boots and belt on.  He said, "Bye!  I'm going to work."

FBC Coed II Boyette's Road Trip

We just returned from a road trip to Reelfoot Lake and Boyette's with our Sunday school class.  As usual we stuffed ourselves miserably with catfish, white beans, french fries, and some incredibly awesome onion rings

Before dinner, we made a quick stop to see the eagles and then walked the pier out to the lake. It was so cold!

The fellowship shared tonight was awesome!
