It's "H" week at school this week and today just happens to be silly HAIR day. Mills wasn't too sure about spraying his hair although I let him pick his colors. After I worked the magic, he thought it was super cool!

How Not To Play Soccer....
Mills is still more interested in "playing" on the soccer field, and I don't mean playing soccer. I know that one day, I may look back at this and laugh, but it is still frustrating when your strong-willed child wants to do what he wants to do, instead of what coach and mommy tells him.
Today, I had pure proof of what NOT to do on the soccer field. Mills version of soccer is probably no different than any other first timer, but for record keeping, here ya go.

Mills and Jackson just before Mills turned a flip on the field during the game. What game?
Mills minutes, yes I said minutes after he fell, rolling on the field.
Where's the rest of his team? At the other end trying to score a goal.
Thank goodness for water breaks, they've played soooooo hard.
Coach Cliff picking Mills up to move him. Yes, move him.
Hey, let's wrestle on the field and laugh!
Mills just decides to sit down.

"Go Jim Go!"
TCA, Mills' school recently participated in a drive to collect money for LeBonheur Children's hospital. If you are local to the area and watch News Channel 3, you know that meteorologist, Jim Jaggers rode many miles by bike in a campaign called "Go Jim Go" to raise money for LeBonheur.
All of the kids at TCA waited for Jim's arrival with a check for $277.72, shouting and cheering "Go Jim Go!" It was a such a fun experience.

Awana
Mills went to his first "kick off" party last night for Awana. He is finally old enough to start all of the fun stuff that our church has to offer.
He is now officially in the "Cubbies."
Last nights theme for the party was football attire. Mills went sporting his "T-Vols" gear. He's still not embarrassed to wear it after our horrible loss this weekend! True fan! Huh?

Step 2 Complete
Step two of many, on our "move" was finally completed yesterday. There are still many more to go, but at least it is a step forward, and not a step back.
I went to our courthouse during lunch and took care of a little business. We finally became the owners, thanks to our Mom, of twenty acres at my childhood home. Woo hoo! Now, we can continue on with plans. Now on to step three out of what seems to be a thousand. Lets hope not. We still have a little bit of land to purchase, dirt work, plans, and a house.
Patience. It is a virtue, for sure. Right mom? I think I know the answer to that. We are doing great, so far, but are still trying to get Mills adjusted to all of the changes that are going on around here. It is a lot for a little guy to digest all at once, but he will be fine, and so will we.

Mills Likes the "Big Kids"
There's nothing like a "big kid" (as Mills says) who loves playing with little kids. Mills and his friend Brock had a blast playing yesterday afternoon.
More Soccer
Mills' team, the "dragons" won their second soccer game of the season, yesterday. The temperature was hot again, and so Mills didn't last long. We have figured out that he is definitely non-aggressive at this point in his life. Ha! Well, in soccer anyway. He just runs around more or less.

Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy
This is "c" week at TCA. So today, the boys and girls dressed as cowboys and cowgirls. We had absolutely nothing to wear, because his hat was smashed from our move, and he had outgrown his boots.
I made a mad-dash to Stockdale's last night, while Mills was in choir and missions. I managed to stock up on our cowboy gear and Mills' was one happy boy when he woke up this morning.
The hat he had was too small, because of his head full of hair, not to mention he has a pumpkin head. We managed to have extra time this morning, so we went back by Stockdale's and exchanged his medium hat for an extra large.

When we exchanged the hat. They wanted to take his picture for the Stockdale's facebook page.
Thanks guys!!!

TCA Grandparents Day
Today was grandparents day at Mills' school. He was lucky enough to have all of his grandparents join him for lunch.
I managed to sneak in for a few pictures during lunch just before running out to pick up a few things for another fun day at school tomorrow. You'll have tomorrow for that one ;)

The love of our lives was born on 8.13.09 and is the light of our lives. Mills is our happy, busy, typical little boy, who never slows down. He is a huge fan of Moose and Zee, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse and loves playing with his "big-brother-dog," Joey. There is not a day that goes by that I don't look at this precious miracle given to us by God and sit in awe.
