Today, Tomorrow and so on...

ems low glucose Pictures, Images and Photos

Tomorrow I go for my 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Keep your fingers crossed! I have been on a so-called "diet" since Tuesday morning, which has been nothing but the 2000 calorie diet that we should all be following on a daily basis anyway. So, this diet isn't really different than our normal eating habits, but knowing that I can't have something that I want has been mind blowing. It's mental, I know! I would so love a piece of chocolate cake or something sweet right now, but it's 9:30 and I am not allowed to eat after 9:00. Besides, I couldn't have chocolate cake anyway, right? And, I'm skipping Chick-fil-A for breakfast. Hopefully that was the cause of my elevated blood sugar. Go ahead. Say it! What were you thinking!? I wasn't. That's just the thing! lol This whole "fasting" thing is not fun. I am going to starve by the time I get out of the doctor's office!
Today I have been working on the nursery a bit. It (the painting) should be finished in a couple of days. Striping the walls = lots of work and time. Thanks to my wonderful hubby for taping off the lines and to Christi for her handiwork at painting! The baby's furniture is in, so we will be picking it up in a few days. I am too excited! Shame on me for not taking before and after pictures. Again, what was I thinking? I will be posting the end painting result in a few days, so stay tuned. Until then...good night! Mommy has to get some rest for tomorrow's long boring day.

Smiles to you all!

Silly Dog

What's he looking at? Well, if you look closely, there is a baby robin on the window ledge. I took this picture about 5 minutes after he discovered the bird. I tried calling his name, but he did not acknowledge my presence, and is still staring at this bird. Silly dog!

Dr. Visit #6

better late than never

Sorry for the late post. We had our sixth doctors appointment last Friday. We did have an ultrasound which revealed that baby Beasley is indeed a boy. Of course I wanted to 100% sure before slapping blue on the walls. I also had my 1 hour glucose test, in which I received my results today. I failed, so lucky me I get to take the 3 hour test next Friday when I start my 2 week visits. I can't wait-ha! Its nothing like being told to drink a bottle of sugar and then being treated like a human pin-cushion. Please wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed, as I AM NOT happy about my results.

P.S. Did I mention how much in love I am with my baby boy? :)

Which one?

Okay everyone. We need your help. Erik and I haven't registered for a thermometer for our baby boy, because we have heard good and bad about all of them and just don't know which one to pick. So, if you will, leave a comment and tell us which one you prefer and why. Will it be temporal, rectal, ear, or another that we've just never heard of before? LOL! Don't know what we would do without you all.

3 Months to Go

Today, I am 27 weeks pregnant. Today marks the beginning of my 3rd trimester, which means that I only have 13 weeks, or 3 months (from today to be exact) until baby Beasley will be here.

Overall, I have had amazing pregnancy and I am more than thankful. All of those crazy symptoms that most have in their 1st trimester never came about for me. I haven't been sick until now, and the only thing that causes me to get sick is eating certain foods. Mexican, fried fish, anything greasy, and extremely spicy has been put on the back burner for now. I think that my stomach is literally at the bottom of my throat, there's just no room in there for anything, and most of it just wants to come back up. I HAVE gained weight, regardless of what many may think! (hehe) I am beginning to outgrow my first round of maternity clothes, and I am hoping that they will last just a little bit longer. I am tired of sleeping on my left side and can't wait until I can once again lay on my stomach. Lets just say that I will be at the pool this summer on a float, ON MY STOMACH! Now, I will say that there is one thing that has been the biggest challenge of all. I feel like my hormones have taken over me, and I am only hoping that it just doesn't get any worse. Crying for absolutely no reason at all is getting ridiculous, and feeling insecure and sensitive all the time is for the birds! Please tell me it will go away. Have you ever seen the show on WEtv, "Bridezillas?" Well, if they had a show called "Mother-to-be-zillas," I would definitely qualify. Its terrible!

Overall, our baby boy is one character. If he is 1/2 as wild on the outside as he is on the inside, we're gonna have a real boy on our hands. He loves kicking and punching me, and hiccups are quite the daily routine, but don't get me wrong, I LOVE feeling him move, except when its 9:00 and I am trying to go to sleep! Now, if someone would just give me a swift kick of motivation to get the nursery done, ugh!

C.A.R.E.

Covington Animal Rescue Effort now has a website!! YAY Sarah! Job well done! In the future, you can check for new dogs up for adoption on my left side bar. So, go ahead and surf the site. There were new dogs there this morning, and they should be on the site later today. If you are interested in donating, there is a "button" on the site that will allow you to do that. The site also has the cutest reversible doggie bandanas for sale. Purchasing one of these will provide year-long preventative vaccine, flea/tick application, and dewormer.
Lastly, next Saturday, May 23, from 10:00-12:00, there will be a fundraiser for C.A.R.E. at Cobb Parr Park here in Covington. Local photographer Brandi Mignard will be there taking pet photos. You'll get a free 4 x 6 with any donation to C.A.R.E.

My Mother's Day

Although my baby boy isn't officially here yet, I was still able to celebrate Mother's Day as a Mother-to-be!

Erik had to work today, so before leaving he left a sweet Mother's Day card for me. It definitely started my day out great.

After lunch with Mom, I presented her with her gift, and she too surprised me with my own tube of Noodle & Boo "glowology" body butter from the freckled frog . I love it! It smells so wonderful, and boy am I going to pamper myself :)

And check out this awesome canvas given me today by my sister (aka. Aunt Kim). We haven't officially established what Aunt Kim is going to be or wants to be called yet :) Isn't this the cutest thing ever! It is going to look too cute in Mills' nursery. I can't wait!!!

99? Wow!

As I signed into our blog this morning, I just happened to notice the number of days left on my ticker. If you look on the left sidebar, you'll notice that we have less than 100 days left until baby Beasley arrives. Today I am officially 26 weeks pregnant. Time is flying!

P.S. Happy Mother's Day to all of my Mommy friends! Love you all!!!

Something to Make You Giggle...or Laugh Your Socks Off!

Our dear friend Amanda met us for dinner last night and so sweetly presented me with a little Mother's Day gift. To my surprise, the gift bag contained a tiny package of 5 small "teepees" made of blue firetruck fabric, lined with blue terrycloth. Have you ever seen this???

Either I am totally out of the loop, or these are new to the market. This makes having a boy even more fun and comical. I'm sure they will come in handy :) Lets just say that I definitely laughed my socks off... I love'em! Thanks Amanda!!
