Baby Update

It is 9:10 pm, and our Mills is FINALLY asleep. Yes, he's been awake ALL DAY. Sounds great doesn't it? Well, honestly, he's been screaming his head off all day due to constipation, and that is why he has not slept today. We've been thinking he's been constipated for the last couple of weeks, but actually, he's just had irregular bowel movements which is normal for a newborn, with the exception of tummy-aches. I think he took a cat nap around 11:00 for about an hour, but that's about it. So, last resort I call my pharmacist friend, Leann to ask if there is anything I can give Mills. Thank goodness my mom was on the way up to bring us dinner, because I had to get to Walmart pharmacy by 6:00 in order to get some suppositories...a new kind that I was unaware of...oh yeah, much easier. So, it helped, but our little one is still trying "to go." Aaahhh. I feel so bad for him. I am hoping he'll eventually wear out and sleep tonight. Terrible aren't I?

When Kenz was a baby, my mother-in-law told me to give her a teaspoon of Karo syrup in a bottle to help with constipation. I hope Mill's tummy problems are soon things of the past.

When we first brought Ema home, she had terrible issues with bowel movements. I too tried the Karo syrup. Lots of people told me to do that. I ended up having to give her Miralax and still do, in her juice. We had to take her to a stomach doctor and he told us to give her a teaspoon full daily. You dont have to worry about this right now because he is so young but Ema would try NOT to have a BM because it hurt so bad. She would go days and days without pooping and eventually she would hurt so bad that I would have to help her (u know what I mean). We have had many restless nights becasue of her stomach problems. I dont know how old they have to be to be able to use Miralax but it is a lifesaver in our house. Check it out. Good luck!

I still recommend Good Start formula. That did the trick for Maggie T. My MD said it was the least constipating of all the formulas. I know you hate to have to switch again, but just thought I would let you know!!!

Poor buddy...I've got nothing on this issue. I think we used a suppository once for one of them, but they didn't have many problems in this department.

Hoping he gets some relief soon...so you can, too!
